Technology To Keep You Safe
We wanted to share with you the additional steps we take to always keep your safety our priority. In addition to following the highest quality of sterilization techniques and procedures that are approved by CDC guidelines, we have iwave filters, Islolite, and extraoral suction to always protect our patients as well as our team and community. Here we have gathered some information from each device’s website to help you know more about iwave filters, Islolite, and extraoral suction.
IWave air purifiers
We have installed iWave air purifiers in our office.
The following information has been provided to you from the iwave website to help you learn about iwave air purifies.
How iWave Works
iWave is an air purifying device that installs in any duct air conditioning system. When air passes over the iWave, ions produced by the device reduce pathogens, allergens, particles, smoke, and odors in the air, creating a healthy environment without producing any harmful byproducts.
iWave uses patented technology, called needle-point bi-polar ionization, to create equal amounts of positive and negative ions. When these ions are injected into the air stream, they break down passing pollutants and gases into harmless compounds like oxygen, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, and water vapor (see illustration below).
When the ions come in contact with viruses, bacteria, or mold, they remove the hydrogen molecules – without them, the pathogens have no source of energy and will die. The ions also attach to allergens like pollen and other particles, causing them to band together until they are large enough to be caught by the ventilation system’s air filter.
iWave’s technology generates the same ions that nature creates with lightning, waterfalls, ocean waves, etc. Nature uses energy and shear to break apart molecules, naturally cleaning the air and producing a healthy environment. The only difference between the iWave’s technology and nature is that the iWave does it without developing harmful ozone.”
Isolite
The following information has been provided to you from the Isolite website to help you learn about Isolite.
“Isolite significantly reduces aerosols and spatter by providing continuous intra-oral suction via the high vacuum suction to help minimize the creation of and exposure to aerosols in the mouth where they originate.”
In addition to reducing the aerosols, the Islolite will protect your tongue, the inside of your cheek, and your airway during the procedures. The isolite also suctions the water and any debris produced; it also has a light shining on our work area helping us see more details; this will help improve the quality of care.
ADS Extraoral Suction
The following information has been provided to you from the ADS website to help you learn about ADS Extraoral suction.
“The EOS suction system-Aerosols and Droplets annihilator is designed and engineered to reduce droplet and aerosol spray that is an innate part of dental care.
The ADS EOS extraoral dental suction system collects aerosols, droplets, dust, and pathogens produced during routine dental procedures through a suction mouthpiece hood. Particulate matter is filtrated by the dust/particulate filter. The HEPA filter captures particles down to 0.3 microns with 99.995% efficiency. Clean dry air is exhausted from the base cabinet. The UVC lights are positioned on the HEPA filter and kill any remaining bacteria and viruses captured by the HEPA filter and are exhausted from the cabinet base. “
“Specification for HEPA Filters, all mention HEPA filter H14 is a medical-grade filter that filters a minimum of 99.97% particles @ 0.3 microns (PM 0.3) or larger. With our special module design in the EOS Extraoral Suction System: fine filter, suction motor, UV light and HEPA filter are tightly buckled together into one metal module which is well sealed; this reliable structure helps to trap the dirty air inside, not be leaked. In the article from CDC infection control online, mention the HEPA filter must be well sealed, a wooden or metal frame is required, a metal frame is much better. The ADS dental suction system is using a metal frame for a HEPA filter.”
We at the office of Dr. Izadi in Lynnwood, Washington are happy and proud that we have all the extra devices such as the iwave filters, the Isolite, and the extraoral suction to keep you safe and comfortable during your dental visits.
All the above are in addition to disinfecting all surfaces with medical grade disinfectants, using the highest sterilization techniques, and wearing extra PPE such as hair & shoe covers, in addition to our N95 & surgical masks, gloves, and goggles. Dr. Izadi has received both her vaccinations, the first one in January 2021 & the second one in February 2021, and her booster in November 2021. We also encourage all our patients to get their Covid-19 vaccinations when eligible.
